Providing free business kits to the poor from Burj Baitul Mal Trust.
In today’s times of rising inflation, dwindling employment opportunities, and the poor and destitute struggling to make ends meet, the Burj Free Business Kit could offer a ray of hope. Helping the destitute and impoverished establish businesses and stand on their own feet gives them the opportunity to live with dignity and earn a living through their hard work. To this end, the Trust will launch a unique program to provide free business kits (merchandise for sale) to the poor, orphans, the destitute, and the helpless.
Concept of Business Kit
A business kit is a ready-to-use set containing the essential items needed to start a small business.
- Small grocery shop kit
- Vegetable/fruit selling set
- Tea-snack stall kit
- Clothing merchandise
- Mobile accessories small scale kit
- Kits for selling candles, incense sticks, or homemade products
- Sewing and embroidery kits for women
- Things to sell at home for women
- Cosmetic and General Item Kit
- Selling footwear or utensils
And needy poor people will be provided with business kits based on their skills or knowledge, in areas they are interested in or can easily manage. Such kits will be given to those who are poor and needy and want to work but are unable to start a business due to lack of funds.
Objective and Organization of the Trust:
Burj Baitul Mal Trust believes that simply providing assistance to the poor is not enough; rather, empowering them and making them self-reliant is the true service. If a poor person is given monthly assistance, it will meet their needs for a certain period of time. However, if they are given a business kit, they can earn money and support their families and provide employment to others. This philosophy is the foundation of this project.
“As Sadaqa-e-Jaria, such work should be done which can help the poor to stand on their own.”
Who will be given this kit?
Burj Baitul Mal Trust will first identify the eligible (mustahiq) people, such as:
helpless women, Poor laborers who are capable of working, extremely poor and unemployed youth, Widowed mothers bearing the burden of small children, Workers sitting on the roadside looking for work, who do not have the equipment for their skills, Elderly people who need work, Apart from this, those needy people whose financial condition is very bad
How will the life of the poor change?
When a poor person receives a business kit, their confidence increases. They feel that they are no longer dependent on anyone.
For example:
1. If a vegetable seller is provided with a cart, weighing scale and basic supplies, he can earn Rs 300-400 daily.
2. If a widow woman is given a sewing machine and thread and cloth, she can earn enough income to run the household for months and years.
3. If a young man is given small mobile items, he can set up a shop on the footpath.
This is the change that Burj Baitul Mal Trust wants to bring in the society – to make the poor capable, reduce their compulsions and give them a life of dignity.
Working of Burj Baitul Mal Trust:
1. Survey and list making: The volunteers of the trust will go to the areas and prepare a list of the poor.
2. Interview and investigation: It will be seen which type of business will suit which poor person.
3. Preparation of kits: Goods of the best quality will be purchased from the wholesale market so that the work can start at a profitable cost for the poor.
4. Free distribution: Kits will be distributed to the poor at their homes for free!
5. Training and mentoring: Some people will also be given basic training in running small businesses.
Impact on society
This kind of service benefits not just one person, but the entire society.
Unemployment decreases.
Crimes are reduced.
The respect of the poor increases.
Happiness comes to every home of theirs.
A helpful and compassionate environment is created in the society.
The people who cooperate also continue to receive the rewards of the people.
This service by the Burj Baitul Mal Trust is a beautiful example of how, if the intention is pure and the goal is to help the poor, even small steps can bring about significant change. What society desperately needs today is for everyone to consider serving others a duty.
